Active Ingredients: clomiphene citrate
Therapeutic effect of Generic Clomid: Clomiphene citrate is part of a class of medicines known as non-steroidal anti estrogen preparation. This substance is also an estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) which helps in the increased formation of a compound called gonadotropins. Clomiphene does this by preventing negative effect on hypothalamus. This drug is predominantly used for treating female infertility by inducing ovulation and avoiding anovulation and treating menstrual disorders. Clomiphene sometimes stimulates hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.
Indications: Generic Clomid is used for treating the following conditions:
- Sterility throughout the anovular cycle (Anovular sterility)
- Absence of a menstrual period in a women of reproductive age (Primary and secondary amenorrhea)
- Absence of period for a while after stopping the contraceptive medicine (Post contraceptive amenorrhea)
- Polycystic ovarian disease (Syndrome stein-leventhal)
- Infrequent menstruation (Oligomenorrhea)
- Nipple problems (Galactorrhea)
- Chiari's syndrome
- Partial or complete inability of the cell to respond to androgens (Androgen insufficiency)
- Low concentration of sperm in semen (oligospermia in men)
Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use Generic Clomid tablets if any of the below mentioned conditions applies to you:
- Renal failure
- Liver failure
- Ovarian cysts
- Pituitary gland tumors
- Thyroid gland disorders
- Adrenal gland disorders
- Uterine bleeding at irregular intervals (Metrorrhagia of unknown origin)
- Sight disorders
- Cancerous growths (Malignant tumors)
- Growth of uterus cells in other parts of the body (Endomethriosis)
- Pregnancy
- Lactation
- Glucose malabsorption, lactose insufficiency and galactose intolerance
- Intolerance to any of the ingredients used to make this drug
Side effects of Generic Clomid: Use of Generic Clomid tablets may give rise to some side effects that are contrary to what is expected. It is not certain that these adverse reactions will affect every user of this drug. Some of the potential side effects of Generic Clomid include the following:
- Problems of the digestive system such as increased appetite, dyspepsia, diarrhea, Accumulation of excess gas (meteorism), stomach ache, vomiting and nausea
- Problems of the central nervous system such as sleeplessness, depression, hyperirritability, decreased psychotic and motion reactions, lightheadedness, somnolence and cephalalgia
- Changes in vision
- Atrophic vaginitis and excessive urination
- Endometriosis, intrauterine pregnancy, dysmenorrhoea and induration of the mammary glands
- Baldness (alopecia) and similar dermatological reactions
- Problem in metabolism such as loss or gain of weight
- Certain allergic reactions such as inflammation of skin due to contact with irritating substances (allergic dermatitis), hives and rashes
- Hot flashes
