Therapeutic effects of Oestrogel: Used in hormone replacement therapy, Estradiol is a female sexual hormone that occurs naturally in the body. Oestrogel is consumed during the period of menopause when the levels of naturally occurring estrogen reduce. When consumed, it eases out the symptoms and acts as a substitute for estrogen. It is always taken along with progestin, unless the patient has undergone hysterectomy. Application on the skin results in estradiol being absorbed into the blood directly.
Indications:
- Oestrogel is used in hormone replacement therapy at the time of menopause.
- It is also used to prevent Osteoporosis after menopause.
Precautions and Restrictions: Before using this medicine you should know the following:
- Oestrogel Gel should be applied only on a healthy skin
- This medicine should not be applied on face, vagina, breasts, and eyes
- Do not have skin contact with others for few hours after applying Oestrogel gel

- Users should have their breast examined for lumps every week

Avoid using Oestrogel Gel under the following circumstances:
- If you have breast cancer
- If you have Estrogen-Induced Cancer
- If you suffer from a condition in which excessive proliferation of the cells of the endometrium, or inner lining of the uterus occur (Endometrial hyperplasia)
- If you notice bleeding in the vagina
- If you have blood clotting problem
- If you recently had Heart Failure
- If you have chest pain (Angina pectoris)
- If you have progressive liver problem or have a personal history of liver ailments
- If you have porphyrias
- If you are pregnant
- If you are a nursing mother
