Drug name: Mycogynax
Active Ingredients:
- chloramphenicole,
- dexamethasone,
- metronidazole,
- nystatin
Therapeutic effect of Mycogynax: Mycogynax is a combined broad spectrum preparation. This medication is used to cure different gynecological infections with bacterial, fungal, protozoaa and combined origins.
Metronidazole affects trichomonasvaginalis, nistatin affects fungi, antibiotic chloramphenicol affects pyogenic bacteria and dexamethasone, and it also possesses strong anti-inflammatory properties.
Mutilation in mucous membrane of the vagina is prevented by subsidiary substances found in this pharmaceutical formula. The same also contributes to the maintenance of the average physiological pH.
Indications: Mycogynax is used for treating:
- Bacterial vaginosis (or) vaginal bacteriosis
- To prevent infections of vagina before abortion, child birth, surgery, etc.
Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use Mycogynax under the below mentioned circumstances:
- If you have previously experienced increased sensitivity to the ingredients of this medicine
- Pregnancy
- Lactation
- During menstrual period
- Never use this medicine with alcohol
- Do not indulge in sexual intercourse while using this medication
- Users who are taking this medicine for Trichomonas vaginalis must advise their partner to use oral metronidazole. Do not forget to consult a doctor about this matter.
Side effects of Mycogynax: Use of Mycogynax may lead to certain complications that are wholly or partly unintended. The side effects mentioned below are only a distant possibility and there are no prior proven records to show that these side effects will affect all users of this medicine.
- Irritation of the vaginal mucous membrane, burning and itching sensation
- Problems of the gastrointestinal tract such as pain in the lower abdomen, diarrhea, and urge to vomit
- Problems of the central nervous system such as impairment in perceptual ability and stability, cephalalgia, etc
- User of this drug may experience leucopenia when it is used with oral metronidazole
- Certain skin reactions such as irritation and reddening of the skin
