Active Ingredients:

  • Dydrogesterone

Therapeutic effect of Duphaston: Dydrogesterone, the primary ingredient in Duphaston, is a potent progestogen hormone. Progestogen which is one of the five major steroid hormones plays a very important role in maintaining pregnancy. Progesterone plays a crucial part in the development of a healthy womb lining (endometrium) which is essential for pregnancy. Dydrogesterone is used to relieve pain caused during menstruation and it also plays an active role in neuro-endocrine control of ovarian function. This is a well tolerated and very safe medicine that is free from anabolic, androgenic, corticoid, oestrogenic and other undesirable effects.

Indications: Duphaston is used for treating the following conditions:

  • Pain caused during menstruation (Dysmenorrhea)
  • Bleeding caused in the absence of menstrual cycle
  • Absence of menstrual periods while taking estrogen medications
  • Disorder where cells lining the uterus grow in other parts of the body (Endometriosis)
  • Lutein deficiency induced sterility
  • Irregular menstruation
  • Physical or emotional symptoms that occur before a woman starts her monthly menstrual cycle (Premenstrual syndrome)
  • Pain and bleeding during pregnancy
  • Infertility in women
  • Bleeding during menstruation while taking estrogens
  • Controlling the over growth of uterus due to estrogen in hormone replacement therapy

Precautions and Restrictions: Avoid using Duphaston if you have any of the following conditions:

  • High sensitivity to Dydrogesterone or other similar substances
  • Thrombophilia (Blood clotting diseases)
  • Had heart attack or strokes recently
  • Liver disorder or ailments related to gall bladder
  • Jaundice
  • Cervical cancer or breast cancer
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Lack of healthy red blood cells
  • If the user is a breast feeding mother
