Therapeutic effect of Hoodia: Hoodia gordoni, the main constituent of Hoodia, has the following properties:

• it acts as appetite suppressant (anorexigenic)
• it helps to reduce blood sugar level (hypoglycemic effect)
• Lipid lowering effect (hypolipidemic effect)
• Aids in increased supply of glucose to the liver and muscles and also helps conversion of glucose to glycogen
• Normalizes the amount of cholesterol

Indications:

• Hoodia is used to prevent obesity
• It is used along with a healthy diet and physical exercise to treat mild obesity
