Active Ingredients:

• fluocinolone acetonide

Therapeutic effect of Flucinar: Fluocinolone acetonide is corticosteroid mainly used to treat inflammation of the skin. This substance also has anti-itch (antipruritic) and vasoconstrictive properties. When Fluocinolone acetonide is applied to the skin, it diffuses inside and prevents the production of certain chemicals in the cells that induce allergic reactions. By inhibiting the production of these enzymes, fluocinolone acetonide also controls the swelling of the blood vessels and thereby controlls allergic reactions such as pain, inflammation, itching, reddening of skin etc.

Indications: Flucinar is administered to cure the following conditions:

• Itchy eruptions of the skin (prurigo)
• Atopic dermatitis
• Otitis externa
• Inflammation of the skin caused by direct contact with an irritating substance (contact dermatitis)
• Chronic inflammatory disorder affecting areas of the head and trunk where sebaceous glands are most prominent (seborrhoeic dermatitis)
• Chronic skin condition known as Discoid lupus erythematosus
• Inflammation of the skin
• Irritation and redness of the skin (Psoriasis)
• Rashes or itchy feeling in the mouth or on the skin
• A chronic skin disease that has neurogenic-allergic origin (neurodermatitis)

Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use Flucinar if:

• You have skin condition called Acne vulgaris
• The user is a young infant
• You have chronic skin condition that makes your face turn red and may cause swelling and skin sores (acne rosacea)
• You have skin infections caused by bacteria or virus
• You have skin condition where small red bumps around the mouth occur (perioral dermatitis)
• You have itching in the anus or genitals
• You have Nappy rash
• You have widespread irritation and skin redness (plaque psoriasis)
• You are allergic to its ingredients
• You are pregnant
• You are a breast-feeding mother

Warning:

• It is not advisable to use this ointment or gel on a large area for a longer period of time. The medicine may lead to serious complications.
• Never cover the treated area with bandage. Use bandage only if your doctor explicitly asks you to do so.
• Do not use tight plastic pants or diapers when using this medicine on young children.
• Use Flucinar on children only after consulting a doctor.

Side effects of Flucinar: Application of Flucinar ointment or gel may give rise to some side effects that are contrary to what is expected. It has not been proven that these adverse reactions will affect every user of this drug. Some of the most common side effects of Flucinar ointment or gel include the following:

• Dry cracking skin
• Skin condition called acne
• Desire to scratch the skin (itching)
• Burning sensation of skin
• Skin color changes

Call a doctor at once if you experience any of the below mentioned conditions:

• Severe skin rashes
• Breathlessness or swallowing difficulty
• Breathing problems such as wheezing
• Infection of the skin such as inflammation, pus formation or skin redness
