Active Ingredients:

  • Carbocisteine

Therapeutic effect of Fluditec: Carbocisteine is a compound that dissolves thick mucus and is basically used for relieving respiratory problems. Carbocisteine works to regulate the production of the bronchial secretion. It also normalizes the consistency of the mucous and also boosts the functioning of ciliated epithelium.

Indications: Fluditec is taken to cure:

  • Chronic infections of the respiratory tract which is characterized by the formation of very thick liquid called viscous sputum
  • Irreversible dilation of part of the bronchial tree (bronchiectasis)
  • Bronchial asthma
  • Infection that affects the trachea and bronchi of respiratory tract (tracheobronchitis)
  • Inflammation of the main air passages to the lungs (bronchitis)
  • Bacterial infection of the trachea (tracheitis)
  • Fluditec is also used to treat acute and chronic swelling in the middle ear and the nose. It is also used in the preparation of radiography of the lungs (bronchography).

Precautions and Restrictions: Avoid taking Fluditec syrup if:

  • You are hypersensitive to Carbocisteine or similar substances
  • You have ulcer of the gastrointestinal tract (Peptic ulcer disease)
  • You suffer from kidney disorders such as Chronic glomerulonephritis
  • The user of this drug is a baby under one month (mild strength preparation) or a youngster below 15 years (stronger preparation)
  • Fluditec syrup should be taken with caution if the user is pregnant or a breast feeding mother or a diabetic.

Side effects of Fluditec: People using Fluditec syrup may experience some side effects. But it was not proven that these side effects will take place in all people. Some of the side effects for which immediate attention is required are:

  • Problems of the digestive system such as bleeding in the intestines, tympanites, stomach ache, diarrhea, vomiting and nausea
  • Problems of the central nervous system such as slight fever (febricula), exhaustion and dizziness
  • Certain allergic reactions such as swelling of the dermis (Quincke's edema), hives and itching

Interactions: In case a person is already taking any other drug or medicine he or she should inform his or her doctor before taking Fluditec.   • Fluditec can increase the effectiveness of antibiotics or glucocorticosteroids used for treating infections of the upper or lower respiratory tract.
  • Fluditec can increase the broncholytic action of theophylline
  • Cough suppressants can reduce the effectiveness of Carbocisteine

Additional Information: Medicinal substances should not be used without prior approval of a doctor and don't share medicines with anybody else. Fluditec syrup is made for specific conditions and it is not advisable to use it for other purposes. Keep medicinal drugs, needles, syringes and other such medical substances out of the reach of children.
