Active Ingredients:
- beclomethasone
Therapeutic effect of Becloforte CFC: Becloforte is part of a group of highly potent anti-inflammatory and anti allergic steroid that is used to treat bronchial asthma. This drug when used increases the production of Lipocortin and reduces the releases of inflammatory mediators and arachidonic acid. This drug is normally used in very small dosages so it does not cause any untoward reactions. This inhaler is harmless compared to other steroid based medicines. Becloforte has not proved to be very effective against acute asthma attacks hence it's not advisable to use it for such conditions.
Indications: Becloforte is used to treat the following disorders:
- Asthma
- Becloforte is used to lower the dosage of glucocorticoids
- Becloforte is used if cromoglicic acid, ketotifen, bronchodilatators is not very effective
Precautions and Restrictions: Becloforte should not be used if you have the following conditions:
- Allergic reaction to Becloforte or similar substances
- Contraction of the bronchi
- Nonasthmatic eosinophilic bronchitis (NAEB)
Becloforte should be used with caution or after consulting a doctor if you have the following:
- Scarring of the liver and poor liver function
- Eye disorder that can damage the optic nerve
- Hyperthyroidism
- Viral, bacterial, or fungal infection
- Thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density
- If you are pregnant
- If you are a breast feeding mother
Side effects: There is always a distant possibility of some kind of adverse effect that is wholly unintended. These side effects are only a distant possibility and there are no prior proven records of such effects due to inhalers like Becloforte. Some of the adverse effects that may occur are:
- Yeast infection in the mouth or throat
- Allergies
- Eosinophilic pneumonia
- Bronchial spasm
- Sternutation
- Coughing
- Irritation in the throat
- Difficulty producing sound while trying to speak
Other rare adverse reactions that might occur are:
- Eosinophilia disorder
- Abnormally low level of lymphocytes in the blood
- Ocular Hypertension
- Clouding of the lens of the eye (Cataract)
- Dizziness
- Cephalalgiav
