Therapeutic effect of Gabagamma: Gabapentin, the ingredient used to make Gabagamma, is used to treat epileptic seizures and to relieve neuropathic pain. Gabagamma controls seizures by controlling the abnormal stimulations in the brain and it relieves pain by altering our body's pain perception.

Indications Gabapentin along with other medicines is used to treat certain types of seizures and to reduce pain that lasts for a long time after shingles infection (postherpetic neuralgia).

Precautions and Restrictions: It is best to consult a doctor before taking Gabagamma tablets if you have heart, liver or kidney disorders. Also tell the doctor about any other medicine you are currently taking, this includes both prescription and over-the-counter medicines. Gabagamma's impact on unborn child is not known hence if you are pregnant talk to a doctor before taking this medicine. Gabapentin passes in to breast milk so do not use Gabagamma without getting the approval of your doctor.

Side effects of Gabagamma: There is always a distant possibility of some kind of adverse effect. These side effects are only a distant possibility and there are no prior proven records of such effects being caused by Gabagamma.

If you are experiencing any allergic reactions such as hives, swelling in the face, tongue, and lips, your throat is closing up, or you are having breathing problems please visit a doctor or a medical emergency care center at once.

Some of the lesser serious side effects that may occur are:

  • Somnolence, coordination problems and dizziness
  • Vision problems such as Diplopia or blurred vision
  • Involuntary back and forth eye movements
  • Vomiting and nausea
  • Involuntary muscle contraction and relaxation (tremor)

Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take gabapentin and talk to your doctor if you experience

  • Emotional disorders such as constant mood changes, too emotional, depression, behaviour problems and anxiety
  • the child is suspicious, distrustful and aggressive
  • Hyperactive
  • Memory loss
  • Problems in concentration

  • Antacids when taken with Gabagamma will reduce its absorption by the body hence use Gabagamma only after 2 hours after taking antacids.
  • Gabagamma can react with medicines such as pain killers, antihistamines, antidepressants, antidepressants etc. and increase the effects of the drugs.
  • There are no records to show that Gabagamma reacts with other medicines used to treat seizure.
