Active Ingredients:
- vincamine
Therapeutic effects of Oxybral: Vincamine is the active ingredient of the drug Oxybral. It is present in the leaves of Vinca minor as an indole alkaloid which is known to increase cerebral blood circulation. Due to this action, the brain tissues absorb more oxygen which directly leads to good mental fitness and memory. The drug also contains spasmolytic which is a hypotensive drug and gives a sedative effect.
Indications: Oxybral is used for treating the following conditions:
- Obstruction of one or more arteries that supply blood to the brain (cerebrovascular insufficiency)
- Condition after ischemic stroke
- Increased intracranial pressure that happens after coma
- Neurogenic tachycardia
- High blood pressure
- Memory loss
- Attention impairment
- Vertigo
- Symptoms of vertigo such as vestibular balance disorders
- Migraine
- Problems of vision and hearing caused by vascular diseases
- Delayed development of intellectual ability in children and adolescents
Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use this medicine under the following circumstances:
- If you are allergic to vinpocetine or vincamine
- If you have brain tumor
- If you suffer from myocardial ischaemia
- If you have irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia)
- If you suffer from low blood pressure
If the below mentioned conditions apply to you then you should talk to a doctor before using this Oxybral:
- If you are pregnant
- If you are a nursing mother
Side effects of Oxybral: Use of Oxybral may give rise to some side effects that are contrary to what is expected. It is not certain that these adverse reactions will affect every user of this drug. Some of the common side effects of Oxybral are:
- Rashes in skin
- Disorder of the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat (arrhythmia)
