Active Ingredients:

  • Doxazosin

Therapeutic effects of Zoxon: Doxazosin, the active ingredient of Zoxon, works by stopping postsynaptic alpha-1-adrenergic receptors, and by doing is so it brings about the following effects:

  • Prevents narrowing of the blood vessels resulting from contraction of the muscular wall of the vessels (prevents vasoconstriction)
  • Prevents the resistance of all peripheral vasculature in the systemic circulation (prevents peripheral resistance)
  • Decreases pre- and post-load
  • Reduces the level of cholesterol and thyrotropic hormone
  • Improves urodynamic parameters
  • This medicine when used for 2 to 14 weeks improves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia

Indications: Zoxon tablets are used in the treatment of:

  • Heart Failure
  • Pulmonary arterial hypertension
  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use Zoxon tablets if you are highly sensitive to the ingredients of this medicine

Use this medicine with caution under the following circumstances:

  • Pregnancy
  • Breast feeding
  • Young age
  • Postural hypotension
  • Heart valve disorder that involves the mitral valve (Mitral stenosis)
  • Disease of the heart valves in which the opening of the aortic valve is narrowed (aortic stenosis)
  • Hepatic disease
