Active Ingredients:

  • amlodipine

Therapeutic effects of Norvasc: Norvasc tablets are calcium channel blockers that contain amlodipine besilate as its main component. It has the ability to block calcium channels found inside the muscle cells of blood vessels. The said medication works on the muscles cells found on the walls of arties. This brings about relaxation and widening of the said area. As a result, the heart's workload is minimized and the pumping of the blood throughout the body becomes easier.

Indications: Norvasc is administered to treat the following conditions:

  • Hypertension (High blood pressure)
  • Coronary artery spasm (Prinzmetal's angina)
  • Chest pain (Stable angina or Angina pectoris)

Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use Norvasc tablets if:

  • You are allergic to calcium channel blockers
  • You have a condition in which your heart doesn't get enough blood flow and oxygen (unstable angina)
  • You suffer from heart failure
  • You have Aortic Stenosis
  • You are pregnant
  • You are a nursing mother
