Active Ingredients:

• enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide

Therapeutic action of Enap HL: Enap HL is a combination of two compounds, Enalapril and Hydrochlorothiazide. Enalapril is part of a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors. ACE or angiotensin-converting enzyme causes the muscles of the blood vessels to contract which results in rise of blood pressure. Enalapril by inhibiting the production of this enzyme relaxes the blood vessels and enables the blood to flow freely. The second constituent of this drug, Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which is also known as a water pill. This substance helps in urine formation in the kidney and removes the excess water and salts in the body as urine.

Indications: Enalapril is administered to treat conditions such as:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)
• To reduce symptoms of Heart Failure (HF)
• To prevent symptoms of heart disease and increase survival chances after a heart attack

Precautions and Restrictions:

• Pregnant women are advised not to take Enap HL because the Enalapril and Hydrochlorothiazide may affect the unborn fetus. If you come to know that you are pregnant when using Enap HL, then consult a doctor immediately. Before taking this medicine talk to a doctor if you are planning to get pregnant or if you are breastfeeding.
• Also inform the doctor if you have shortness of breath, swelling in the face, eyes, throat, asthma, hives, swelling beneath the skin, asthma, kidney diseases, liver ailments, heart failure etc.
• Consult to a doctor about taking this medicine if you are about to have surgery (even dental).
• There is a good chance that consuming alcohol when using Enap HL can increase the side effects of this medicine, so talk to your doctor about using alcohol.
• Drink a lot of water while taking this medicine as you may lose fluids due to vomiting, sweating and diarrhea. This may also lead to low blood pressure and fainting.

Side effects of Enap HL: The use of this medicinal drug may give rise to some side effects that are contrary to what is expected. These adverse reactions will not effect every user of this drug. Some of the potential side effects of Enap HL tablets include the following:

• Decreased libido
• Cramping of muscles
• Fatigue
• Cephalalgia
• Lightheadedness
