Cozaar which is made up of Losartan is categorized under the group of angiotensin II receptor antagonists. This drug by blocking the angiotensin II receptors prevents the blood vessels from narrowing and allows the free flow of blood. Cozaar is very effective in controlling blood pressure and it normalizes the rate of blood flow. Cozaar also helps to reduce the chances of stroke in people who have heart disease. This drug has multiple functions like slowing long term kidney damage due to diabetics and hypertension. Apart from these Cozaar can be used for treating other ailments too.

Indications Cozaar is used to treat the following:

  • Chronic heart failure (CHF)
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Precautions and Restrictions: Do not take Cozaar if you have the following conditions:

  • Hypotension
  • Elevated levels of blood potassium
  • Hypohydration
  • If the user is pregnant
  • If the user is a breast feeding mother
  • If the user is below 18 years of age
  • Take Cozaar with caution if you're suffering from kidney or liver failure
