Active Ingredients:
- Lansoprazole
Therapeutic effects of Zollipak: Lansoprazole is basically a member of proton-pump inhibitors. Digestive acids are produced in the stomach by the proton pumps found in the cells that line the stomach. Lansoprazole inhibits these proton pumps and reduces the production of digestive acids.
Indications: Zollipak is administered to treat the following:
- Duodenal ulcer, stomach ulcer, and ulcer caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Condition in which the stomach contents leak backwards from the stomach into the esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux disease)
- Condition in which there is increased production of the hormone gastrin (Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome)
- Zollipak is used with antibiotics to treat infection caused by Helicobacter pylori
Precautions and Restrictions:
- Zollipak should be used with caution if you suffer from severely decreased liver function
- Do not use this medicine if you are allergic or highly sensitive to the ingredients of this medicine
- The effect and the safety of this medicine in children are not clearly known, so do not used Zollipak on children.
- Zollipak may decrease the acidic level of the stomach which increases the risk of infection by Campylobacter and Salmonella. Zollipak is mainly used to treat the symptoms of stomach ulcer the problem is that symptoms of stomach cancer and that of stomach ulcer are the same, so before using this medicine you should undergo diagnosis for stomach cancer and then start the treatment for ulcer. The problems are that this medicine often masks the symptoms of stomach cancer. Users who are middle or old aged are more at risk of this mix-up.
Side effects of Zollipak: The use of this medicinal drug may give rise to some side effects that are contrary to what is expected. It is not certain that these adverse reactions will affect every user of this drug. Some of the potential side effects of Zollipak include the following:
- Inability to think clearly (Confusion)
- Blurry vision
- Tingling and burning sensation (paraesthesia)
- Swelling resulting from increased interstitial fluid in the tissue of the extremities (peripheral oedema)
- Abnormal development of large mammary glands in males (gynaecomastia)
- Disorder of the level of blood cell in blood
- Erectile dysfunction
- Depression
- Myalgia
- Arthralgia
- Problems of the liver
- Thinning of hair
- Photosensitivity
- Itching and rashes
- Dry mouth and sore throat
- Problems of the digestive system such as diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, flatulence or abdominal pain
- Uneasiness
- Exhaustion
- Impairment in spatial perception and stability (Dizziness)
- Cephalalgia

Interactions: Zollipak tablets and capsules should be used only after consulting a doctor. This is to make sure that the combination of the two drugs is safe. Zollipak may interact with the following:
- Zollipak's absorption will be reduced if it is taken with the following medicines: astemizole, theophylline and aminophylline, voriconazole, theophylline, iron salts, fluvoxamine, delavirdine, bisacodyl, ampicillin, and sucralfate.
- Zollipak will increase the plasma concentrations of Cilostazol
- Zollipak and other Proton-pump inhibitors reduces the absorption of antifungal drugs and may increase the level of Digoxin in plasma
