Therapeutic effects of Yasmin: Yasmin is an oral contraceptive drug. Its mode of action is by inhibiting ovulation process and by altering the uterine lining along with the cervical mucous. As a result, the sperm is prevented from entering the uterus; the attachment of fertilized egg to the walls of the uterus is also made difficult. Dropsirenon is the active ingredient in this drug and it is typically a progestin hormone. It is most often prescribed to women who have undergone complications with other contraceptives.
Indications: Yasmin is mainly used to prevent unwanted pregnancy, but it's also used for the below mentioned conditions as well:
- Acne in women
- Symptoms of Premenstrual dysphoric disorder such as myalgia, increase in body weight, sleeping disorder, changes in appetite, tiredness, depression, irritability, and anxiety.

Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use Yasmin tablets if the below mentioned conditions applies to you:
- If you suffer from the following heart related ailments: chest pain, high blood pressure, blood clots, heart attack, and stroke.
- If you have any kind of cancer like: uterine, breast, or others
- If you suffer from dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB)
- If you suffer from diabetes
- If you have hypercholesterolemia
- If you experience migraines
- If you suffer from epilepsy
- If you suffer from any disorder of gallbladder, kidney, or liver
Also inform him about your habits such as smoking, etc, and also if you are planning to undergo surgery in the near future.
Yasmin tablets are placed in Pregnancy Category X, so this medicine is strictly off limits for pregnant women. And if you are a nursing mother then before taking this medicine you should talk to a doctor.
Side effect of Yasmin tablets: The use of Yasmin tables may cause certain adverse effects in certain users. Some of the potential side effects of Yasmin are:

- Contact lens irritation
- Changes in tenderness of the breasts
- Dark spots on skin
