Therapeutic effects of Tricor: As Tricor is derived from fibric acid, it is classified into the group of fibrates. While consuming Tricor, the synthesis of lipoprotein lipase increases in the body. Enzyme lipoprotein lipase is responsible for the breakdown of triglycerides and then eases its elimination from the body. Another way of action is reduction of Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL) and cholesterol levels and increases High Density Lipoproteins (HDL). By reducing the levels of fibrogen, it also increases the excretion of uric acid from your body.

Indications: Tricor tablets are administered to treat:

  • Hypercholesterolemia
  • Hypertriglyceridemia

Precautions and Restrictions: Do not use Tricor tablets under the following circumstances:

  • If you are allergic or highly sensitive to the components of this medicine
  • If you suffer from serious liver ailment
  • If you have high levels liver enzymes
  • If you suffer from acute renal disorder
  • If you have crystalline concretion formed within the gallbladder (gallstones)
  • If you are pregnant
  • If you are a nursing mother
