Active Ingredients:

• ethnynilestradiol and desogestrel

Therapeutic effects of Novynette: Composed of both estrogens and gestagen, Novynette is a monophasic oral contraceptive drug. The synthetic analogous part of the female sex hormones contained in this drug is much more effective than the natural hormone produced in the body. Once consumed, it stops the release of follicle-stimulating hormones and the luteinizing hormones which in turn impedes the process of ovulation. Another way the drug acts is by thickening the cervical mucus in the uterus so egg implantation becomes difficult.

Indications: Novynette is a hormonal contraceptive medicine that is taken to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

This medicine can also be used to treat problems of the menstrual cycle, pain during menstruation (dysmenorrhea), and symptoms that occur in women before start of their monthly menstrual cycle (premenstrual syndrome).

Do not use Novynette under the following circumstances: Do not use Novynette under the following circumstances:

• Venous or arterial thrombosis
• Phase prior to thrombosis
• Moderate or severe headache (Migraine)
• Vascular complications of diabetes
• Various risk factors of venous or arterial thrombosis such as uncontrolled arterial hypertension, arrhythmia, affection of mitral valve, etc
• Inflammation of the pancreas (Pancreatitis)
• Severe liver disorder
• Kidney dysfunction
• Benign or malignant tumors of the liver
• Revealed hormone-dependent tumors
• Bleeding of the vagina
• If the user is pregnant
• If the user is a nursing mother
• If the user is increasingly sensitive to the ingredients of this medicine
• Trauma, surgery, surgery on extremities, long term immobilization

Observe caution while using this medicine if:

• You have High blood cholesterol levels or are obese
• If the user has abnormal bone growth in the middle ear (Otosclerosis)
• Diabetes
• If the user has migraine
• Superficial thrombophlebitis
• Gilbert-Meulengracht syndrome
• Tumors
• Hypertension
• Haemolytic-uraemic syndrome
• Systemic lupus erythematosus
• Inflammation of the bowel (Crohn's disease)
• Sickle cell anemia

Side effects of Novynette: While taking Novynette tablets there are always a distant possibility of some kind of adverse effect that is unexpected. These side effects are only a distant possibility and there is no prior proven records of such effects due to use of Novynette tablets or it has not been proven that everyone using this drug will show the bellow mentioned effects.

Novynette tablets are usually well tolerated but there have been cases where users have experienced certain side effects such as problems of vision, lack of interest, changes in sex drive and body weight, pain in the mammary gland, vomiting, urge to vomit, vaginal discharge changes, loss of hair, disorders of the bile passage, thrombosis of a different localizations, high blood pressure, etc.

Some of the rare side effects of this medicine are problems of the cardiovascular system, diarrhea, jaundice, high blood pressure, etc.
