Active Ingredients:

  • ethinyl estradiol, gestoden

Therapeutic effects of Logest: Logest is a low dosed monophase oral combined estrogen-gestogen contraceptive drug. This medication's contraceptive effect has 3 complementary mechanisms which are:

  • Control of the ovulation process on the level of hypothalamic-pituitary regulation.
  • Changes in cervical secret properties that result to inaccessibility for sperm cell or spermatozoons.
  • Endometrium adjustment which makes embedding of a fertilized ovule practically impossible.

Logest consumption normalizes menstrual cycle, decreases the severity of pain during menstruation and reduces menstrual bleeding. By doing so, it lowers the risk of having iron-deficiency anemia.

Precautions and Restrictions: If the below mentioned conditions applies to you then stop using this medicine at once:

  • Trauma, major surgery, surgery on extremities, long-term immobilization

Use the drug with caution under the following circumstances:

  • Hyperlipidemia or obesity
  • Abnormal bone growth in the middle ear which causes hearing problems
  • Migraine
  • Superficial Thrombophlebitis
  • Gilbert-Meulengracht syndrome
  • Diabetes
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus
  • Haemolytic-uraemic syndrome
  • Regional enteritis
  • Sickle cell anemia
  • Hypertension

If you are pregnant while using this medicine then stop using it immediately. This medicine may change the amount and the consistency of milk which a nursing mother produces; hence avoid using this medicine if you are a nursing mother.

Combined contraceptive medicines or substances can cause vaginal bleeding during the initial period of use. If the bleeding continues and occurs on regular intervals then it is recommended to undergo through examination to rule out pregnancy or malignant growth. It is advisable to undergo examination even before starting this medicine to rule out pregnancy and other disorders.
