• Sertaconazole

Therapeutic effects of Zalain: The active ingredient contained in Zalain is sertaconazole and it is anti-mycotic in nature, meaning it is anti-fungal. The production of ergosterol is hindered in the fungi by consuming this drug and leads to their death. The drug has been proven effective against fungi like Trychophyton, Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Pytirosporumorbiculare, Microsporum as well as some strains of Gram-positive bacteria including Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and Trichomonasvaginalis. A single dose of sertaconazole acts within 7 days and usually enough for full recovery.

Indications: Zalain is used for treating vulvovaginitis.

Precautions and Restrictions:

• Do not use Zalain if you are increasingly sensitive to the active ingredient of this medicine, Sertaconazole or other drugs of imidazol group.
• Use Zalain with caution in case you are pregnant or nursing a baby.

Warning:

• Before using this medicine intravaginally wash your genitals with alkaline soap.
• It is advisable that you also receive systemic treatment if you are having vulvitis caused by Candida albicans.
• It is best to avoid sexual intercourse while using Zalain.
• It is safe to use Zalain during periods.
• It is not advisable to use diaphragms or condoms while using Zalain.

Side effects of Zalain: While using Zalain there is always a likelihood of some kind of adverse effect that is unexpected.
