Drug name: Fluconazol
Active Ingredients:
- Fluconazole
Therapeutic effect of Fluconazol: Fluconazol is an anti-fungal compound used for treating superficial and systemic infections caused by fungi. Fluconazol works by inhibiting the formation of ergosterol, a necessary compound of the fungal cell wall. By interfering in ergosterol formation, Fluconazol weakens and eventually causes the death of the fungi or bacteria.
Indications: Fluconazol is administered to treat the following conditions:
- Fungal infection of the skin such as pityriasis versicolor, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, tinea pedis etc.
- Infection of the skin caused by Candida albicans
- Candidal balanitis
- Infections caused by Cryptococcus fungi
- Skin and lung infections
- To prevent infections caused by fungus in people with compromised immune system
- Preventing fungal infections (Cryptococcus fungi) in AIDS patients
Precautions and Restrictions:
It is not advisable to use Fluconazol if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients that are used to make this drug, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Talk to a doctor about taking Fluconazol if you have heart related disorders, liver disorder, kidney diseases or low levels of calcium, magnesium and potassium in blood.
Warning:
Even after complete cure this treatment should be continued till the full course of the doctor's prescribed time-line is not complete. While undergoing treatment it is very essential to monitor the liver function of the patient.
Side effects of Fluconazol: The use of Fluconazol capsules to treat a specific disorder may cause certain adverse effects in some users. Some of the potential side effects of Fluconazol include the following:
- Problems of the central nervous system such as dizziness, convulsions and cephalalgia

- Certain allergic reactions such as itching and rashes
- Hypokalemia
