Therapeutic effects of Nolicin: Norfloxacin, a broad spectrum antibiotic, is the active ingredient of Nolicin. As any other fluoroquinolones, it functions by suppressing the activity of enzymes called DNA-gyrase. These enzymes are essential to DNA replication. Holding back such reproduction reduces the chance of survival of the microorganism. Norfloxacin's antibacterial activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria is enhanced by the Flour atom it contains. The said ingredient also has the ability to hasten activities against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Indications: Nolicin is used to treat infections such as:
- Gonococcic infections such as cervicitis and urethritis
- Infection of the urinary tract such as urethritis, cystitis, and pyelonephritis
- Infections of the gastrointestinal tract caused by Vibrio cholerae, E.coli, Campylobacter jejuni, Yersinia enterocolitica, Shigella spp., and Salmonella spp.
- This medicine is very effective against acute gastroenteritis
Precautions and Restrictions: Avoid using Nolicin under the following circumstances:
- If you are allergic to norfloxacin or fluoroquinolones
- If you are pregnant
- If you are a nursing mother
- If you suffer from severe liver failure
Before using this medicine it's best to consult a physician if you have the following conditions:
- History of convulsions or epilepsy
- History of disorders related to the central nervous system (CNS)
- Condition in which the body doesn't have enough of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase
- Acute kidney failure
Warning!
- It is not advisable to expose oneself to direct sunlight while using Nolicin.
- Avoid driving and operation of machinery while using this medicine.
- If you experience inflammation at the joints then stop using this medicine at once.
Side effects of Nolicin: Users of Nolicin may experience certain side effects that are unintended. These adverse reactions may affect different people in different ways. There is no proof that all the users of this drug will have the below mentioned effects. This medicine is usually well tolerated but on rare occasions people may experience allergic reactions such as itching and rashes; sleeplessness, cephalalgia, and upset stomach.

- Norfloxacin when used with Theophylline and NSAIDs can increase the risk of seizures
- Anticoagulants may react with Norfloxacin to increase its therapeutic effects and thereby also increasing the occurrence of side effects
- Sucralfate reduces the absorption of Nolicin
- Nolicin when used with Cyclosporin can enhance the risk of renal damage.
Additional Information: It is strongly advisable not to share Nolicin with anyone else as each person's condition varies. Nolicin must not be used for any other health condition. The medication, syringes and needles that may be used during the treatment must be kept out of reach of children.
