Therapeutic effect of Ciprodac: Ciprodac is an antibiotic with Ciprofloxacin as its main ingredient. Ciprodac inhibits the growth of the bacteria by preventing the formation of DNA gyrase. Bacteria requires this enzyme for protein synthesis. Ciprodac kills the bacterium by inhibiting the development of this enzyme. This drug is very effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Similarly this drug is also very effective against proliferous bacteria and bacteria in its resting phase.

Indications: Ciprodac is used for treating the following:

  • Infections in the respiratory tract
  • Infections of the ear, nose and throat
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Infections of the digestive system
  • Infections in the bile tract and gallbladder
  • Skin infection and infection of the mucous lining
  • Infections of the musculoskeletal system

Precautions and Restrictions: If you have epilepsy or brain lesions then consult a physician or medical expert before taking this drug. Similarly if you experience pain in the tendons then stop using this medicine at once. Use of Ciprodac is discouraged if you have the following:

  • Hypersensitivity reaction to Ciprofloxaxin or other ingredients of Ciprodac
  • If you are a breastfeeding mother
  • If you're pregnant
  • If you are below 18 years of age

Side effects of Ciprodac: With therapeutic drugs there is always a distant possibility of some kind of adverse effect that is wholly or partly unintended. The side effects mentioned here are only distant possibilities and there are no prior proven records of such effects due to Ciprodac. Some of the adverse effects that may occur while using Ciprodac are:

  • Allergic reactions like itching, swelling, hives, pain in the joints, rapid swelling of the dermis
  • Rapid pulse rate, sudden drop of blood pressure, irregular heartbeat
  • Trombocytopenia, Neutropenia, Leukopenia and Eosinophilia
  • Presence of red blood cells in urine, presence of excessive serum protein in blood, Painful urination, Polyuria, Glomerulonephritis and Crystalluria
  • Sleeplessness, headache, fatigue, hallucinations, sight problem and syncope
  • Infection of the large intestine, pain in the stomach, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
